I don't know, I just think it's cute. :-)

We don't have room for a full kitchen, but at Daffy's last year I found a cute wooden stove top and rack thing that folds up tidily into a box the size of a board game.

Man, I totally can't tell. I far prefer the unpainted one, but that's my own aesthetics, not your kids'. I like oddprofessor's painting idea though.
